DR Mission Trip '24: Update #3

Day three of our FCA DR missions trip was filled with meaningful messages, wonderful worship and engaging small groups! Oh, and we can't forget all the amazing games planned by our very own Mandi (with an i) Freise. Our big discussion today led by the famous Phil Weinmeister, focused on Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:12, Romans 10:9, Romans 8:14-15, asking these beautiful girls what being a child of God means and how we are adopted into our heavenly Father's family. These topics produced many deep and—for some—new topics of discussion in our eight small groups.

After a long, fun, hot and sweaty day, we enjoyed an authentic Dominican meal at a restaurant picked out by one of our FCA hosts, Miguel Terrero. We were blessed with the most spectacular view to enjoy our long awaited evening meal in fellowship with a table of 35 missionaries. On the way home, we were treated to a refreshing taste of Dominican ice cream.

One of my favorite parts of the day though is when we come together in the evening; sweaty, exhausted, but fulfilled by our day's successful moments and debrief. We share our joys, blessings, challenges and words of encouragement for the next day. —Marie Sabbarese
