Missions Partner Spotlight: Holt's House of Hope

This month, we are focusing our Missions Partner Spotlight on HOLT'S HOUSE OF HOPE! Holt’s House of Hope is a place in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic that exists to provide a safe place of community for youth ages 8-18. The girls and guys can come 2-3 (specified days) times each week to receive a hot meal, have access to shower facilities, engage in sports, games, art, and receive Biblical & Discipleship training. Many are living in poverty, and we have a system in place for them to earn points for school attendance, completing tasks, attending meetings, memorizing Scripture, and other things. They can use these points in an onsite “store” to get things such as hygiene products clothing, shoes, school supplies, snacks, and toys/sports equipment. We also provide school uniforms and supplies for each child at Holt’s House.

Holt's House of Hope works to leave a mark for good while breaking cultural cycles and flipping the mindset of a generation—one girl and boy at a time. The majority of their work is discipling boys and girls ages 8-21. Their desire is to be preventative and proactive in their work. They do not rescue. They want to reach girls and boys at a young age—build relationships, disciple them, help them stay in school, show them there is HOPE for their future to live the ZO!E (ZOE) life—God kind of life.

Every year close to 60,000 women & children are trafficked in the Dominican Republic (labor, sex, domestic). One quarter of that is children—Holt's House of Hope is here for that one quarter.

How can you pray for HOLT'S HOUSE OF HOPE?

  1. Pray for them to continue to provide a Christ-centered disciple-making place of hope.
  2. Pray for their older students to secure jobs in Christian environments.
  3. Pray for them to have new ideas for trades/skills classes for their girls & guys.
