DR Mission Trip '24: Update #2

Our first day of hosting camp today in the Dominican Republic was filled with lots of games, laughter, singing, teaching and sharing. A big bus brought about 60 girls, ages 6-18, from Boca Chica to join us for the afternoon on Day 1 of the 4-day camp in San Pedro de Macoris. After the outdoor games and "get to know you" activities, we sang, heard teaching and shared our thoughts in small groups on Ephesians 2:1-10. We loved discussing with the girls (mostly through translators) questions like, "What is a Savior?" and "Who needs saving?"

I was particularly moved by the singing today. About 75 people—girls and leaders—singing (en Español, of course!) "Good, Good Father" and "Build My Life". All the voices together was an incredibly moving and beautiful expression of worship that crosses all language, background and cultures! —Mandy Dyson
